Dangal (English: wrestling competition) is an upcoming Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film is produced by Disney Studio India. The film stars Aamir Khan portraying the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. Geeta Phogat was India’s first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games where she won the gold medal(52 kg) while her sister Babita Kumari won the silver(55 kg). Dangal is the native name of wrestling site in Hindi which is popular in India. It has also regional names like Kusti and Pehlwani in India. Dangal is scheduled to release on 23 December 2016.The music for Dangal is composed by Pritam while lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Aamir Khan has been prepping for his wrestler character in Dangal for many months now. In fact, right after PK, he began gaining weight to look the part of a heavyweight who takes his daughters to great heights in the wrestling world.
