Angoorlata Deka is an Indian Assamese actress turned Politician from the state of Assam .She is a first term member of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
Angoorlata Deka, who successfully contested on BJP ticket, has worked in several Bengali and Assamese films. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made history on May 19 by dethroning Congress and forming its first ever government in the state of Assam.
Angoorlata, who is one of the talented and beautiful actresses of the Assamese film industry, had joined the saffron party during a function held at Marigaon on 15 December 2015.
Interestingly, the BJP had given tickets to only six female candidates out which only two won elections and Angoorlata Deka is one of them.
